Season 1 ran for a total of 24 episodes, concluding earlier this year on March 20. A second season, Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon - The Second Act, was confirmed shortly thereafter. Meanwhile, Viz Media streamed the anime to western viewers with subtitles via Funimation, Crunchyroll and Hulu. Funimation also produced the English dub, which began streaming on Crunchyroll and Hulu, as well as on Funimation itself, on Nov. The dub made its way to network TV in the United States this past June, premiering on Cartoon Network/Adult Swim's Toonami block.
The Second Act premiered early last month on Oct. 2 - one year, almost to the day, after Season 1's initial premiere. Additionally, a manga adaptation of Yashahime by Takashi Shiina debuted in Shōnen Sunday S on Sept. 25 - one week before Season 2's premiere.
